Introduction to Skyport DP5

1920

The Skyport DP5 drone hangar is an automated and independent system that allows the sheltering of a drone of medium-small size, protected from actions and external agents during battery charging and standby.

The installation requires a stable horizontal base and a connection to the electrical network through a socket.

Skyport DP5 is prepared to interface mechanically and functionally with the Skycharge drone charging pads BOLOGNINI S1.

The charging base, located at the top of the Skyport DP5, is exposed and covered by two semi-domed covers, which move simultaneously by rotating 90 degrees around their fulcrums.

An electromechanical locking system prevents the unwanted opening or the theft of the drone during standby.

Skyport DP5 is a drone hangar consisting of a structure made of aluminum profiles, and the outer shell is made of a stainless steel sheet with a polyester paint finish. The closures and joints are protected by gaskets that insulate the internal components and the drone on the charging pad from the action of atmospheric agents.

The Skyport DP5 is equipped with a vented anti-condensation heater. Optionally, an air conditioning unit (HVAC) can be included to extend the environmental operating limits.

The opening and closing movement of the semi-domes occurs in 5 seconds and is implemented by a gear motor placed in the center of the structure. The transmission of the movement occurs through toothed crowns, and the rotation is controlled by an absolute encoder.

The operating logic is managed by PLC supported by a dedicated electronic safety device. Mechanical safety is guaranteed by the installation of a clutch on the rotation shaft.

The front control panel is equipped with removable key selectors to switch Skyport DP5 ON and OFF and select the automatic or manual operating mode.

In automatic mode operation, Skyport DP5 executes opening and closing procedures provided by the charging pad, which is electrically interfaced.
